Activist Sharjeel Imam, accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case, has been granted 10-day interim bail by a Delhi court to attend his brother’s wedding. The court order allows him relief from March 20 to March 30.
Activist Sharjeel Imam sought bail in the February 2020 Delhi riots case, expressing anguish before the Supreme Court over being labelled a “dangerous intellectual terrorist” without trial or conviction. His counsel, senior advocate Siddhartha Dave, argued that Imam is a citizen by birth who has not been convicted of any offence.
