Waze, arrested for his alleged role in the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare case on March 13, was attached to the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai police's crime branch till recently.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Waze on late Saturday night in connection with its probe into the recovery of a Scorpio containing 20 gelatin sticks near Ambani's house.

The mobile handset was recovered allegedly from Indian Mujahideen operative Tehseen Akhtar's barrack.

The police took the help of a private cyber agency to track the location of the phone on which the Telegram channel was created, the official said.

The car, a Scorpio, with 20 gelatin sticks inside was found near 'Antilia', Ambani's multi-storey residence in south Mumbai, on February 25.

Top police officers have rushed to the spot for investigation, and the entire area has been cordoned off. Further investigations are underway.
