Assam's flood situation remained critical with over 1.68 lakh people affected across 15 districts. While only one river continued to flow above the danger level, relief operations remained underway with camps, rescue teams and essential supplies supporting affected residents.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said more than 400 per cent excess rainfall, rather than conventional riverine flooding, caused the state's devastating floods. Nearly 11 lakh people across over 2,000 villages have been affected as relief and rescue operations continue.
