He visited the injured at Medicover and KGH hospitals and assured them that the government would cover their treatment costs. The Chief Minister announced a compensation of ₹50 lakh for those critically injured and ₹25 lakh for those with minor injuries. He also promised that if necessary, the government would provide funding for plastic surgeries.
He called the reactor blast at a pharma company in Atchutapuram, Visakhapatnam, which claimed 17 lives and injured many, ‘unfortunate’. The Deputy Chief Minister suggested that the disaster seemed to result from negligence by the company management.
