The UDAN scheme has completed 10 years with over 1.49 crore passengers benefiting from affordable regional air travel. The government says 625 routes have been operationalised, connecting 90 airports, while a revamped version aims to add 120 new destinations.
State-owned oil marketing companies have raised commercial LPG prices by Rs 62.50 per 19-kg cylinder and increased aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rates by Rs 16 per litre from October 1, following higher international benchmark prices. Domestic LPG, petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged.
State-owned OMCs have hiked commercial LPG cylinder prices by Rs 9.50 and raised aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rates by 5.46% to Rs 121.28 per litre, marking the second consecutive monthly increase. The hike is expected to raise airline operating costs and potentially airfares.
