The government cut Basic Customs Duty on imported crude edible oils to ease domestic prices and inflationary pressures. Duty on crude sunflower oil was reduced to zero, while soybean and palm oil duties fell to 5 per cent, supporting consumers and domestic refiners

The government had earlier cut customs duties on Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, Osimertinib and Durvalumab from 10 per cent to nil

Accordingly, the price increase has taken place over the last 4-5 months, to around 22-23 cents per watt as on date.

"The imposition of basic customs duty (BCD) on solar cells and modules with effect from April 1, 2022 will lead to an increase in solar tariffs on account of a rise in the overall project costs," Ind-Ra said.
