Even as the nine persons stranded on Munneru bridge at Prakash Nagar in Khammam city on Sunday were saved by residents of Venkatagiri, a village near Khammam, deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has wrongfully taken the credit for their rescue.
