Liverpool, after their opening match is against AFC Bournemouth, will host Arsenal the following weekend, then have a home Merseyside derby and travel to Chelsea inside the opening two months of the season.
Despite dominating much of the match, including missed chances from their €40 million signing Evanilson and two close-range shots hitting the woodwork, Bournemouth failed to score. A crucial moment of frustration for the Cherries was Evanilson’s missed first-half penalty, which was superbly saved by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
