Karimnagar Town-II police arrested five people, including a lactating mother, for attempting to sell a seven-day-old baby for Rs. 5 lakh. The mother, Sheelam Saisree from Visakhapatnam, was allegedly persuaded by her friends Abhinav and Hina to sell the child due to financial distress.
A tribal couple from Nalgonda allegedly sold their 10-day-old daughter to a childless couple in Andhra Pradesh due to financial hardship and a desire for a male heir. The incident came to light after a viral video showed the couple’s elder daughters pleading with them not to give away their sister.
