Sheinbaum, accompanied by Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs Juan Ramon de la Fuente, read a statement on the Los Angeles protests at her daily morning press conference, Xinhua news agency reported.
Speaking at her daily press briefing on Wednesday, Sheinbaum acknowledged that the decision is a sovereign matter for the US on its own territory, but emphasised that it must not impact Mexico or cross into its jurisdiction, Xinhua news agency reported.
The executive actions follow a discussion Trump held with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and negotiations between Canadian and Trump administration officials
In separate negotiations, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum have agreed with US President Donald Trump to pause planned tariffs for at least a month
The Mexican president lamented the death of her compatriots and announced that the consular authorities are "in permanent contact with the family members."
"I swear to uphold and enforce the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States... and to loyally and patriotically fulfill the office of president of the republic that the people have entrusted to me," Sheinbaum said, raising her hand as a gesture of oath.
