Students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) have strongly opposed the government’s show-cause notice seeking to reclaim 50 acres of university land. The MANUU Students Collective termed the move part of a larger pattern of State-led land appropriation.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Hyderabad has filed a prosecution complaint against former CPWD engineer P. Sai Komareswar and his wife under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. This action follows a charge sheet by the ACB accusing them of amassing assets worth Rs 1.26 crore through corruption.
He pointed out that the recent incident of December 13 has also brought to the fore issues relating to the security of the institutions which are the core of our democratic practices and ethos.
