Dr. Kumarasamy Thangaraj, a leading geneticist at CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad, has been conferred the Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu. Over three decades, his pioneering research has traced the ancestry and migrations of Indian populations, while also steering the Genome India initiative.
