Doctors at NIMS Hyderabad have reduced Deep Brain Stimulation surgery duration from six hours to under two hours using advanced imaging and general anesthesia. The hospital also introduced free MRI-guided radiofrequency ablation for tremor disorders under the CMRF scheme
The young patient, born deaf and mute due to a rare genetic mutation, suffered from severe involuntary movements and feeding difficulties. Painful twisting movements of his neck and body made swallowing and feeding challenging, leaving him dependent on his parents for daily activities.
