Parliament was informed that nationals of 171 countries can avail e-visa facilities under nine sub-categories through 31 airports and six seaports. The Ministry of Tourism is promoting sustainable and responsible destinations, supporting states and UTs with financial assistance, and enhancing digital outreach through the Incredible India portal and its new Content Hub.
The 'e-student visa' and 'e-student-x' visa have been introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs and all applicants will have to use the 'Study in India' (SII) portal launched by the government
This will also give some encouragement to the pandemic-hit industry, where earnings had almost hit zero levels with limited support coming from the government under Aatmanirbhar Bharat programme.
