India has been elected to key United Nations Economic and Social Council subsidiary bodies, including science, NGO and coordination panels, while Ambassador Preeti Saran was re-elected to a rights committee, strengthening India’s role in global development governance
External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar gave the assurance in an X post after Wednesday's election, "India remains committed to championing development issues and keep working to strengthen the ECOSOC."
