Kamareddy District Collector Ashish Sangwan suspended MPDO Lalitha Kumari and MPO Prabhakar for negligence during Panchayat poll duties in Yellareddy constituency. The officials allegedly failed to clarify nomination-record discrepancies and switched off their phones, prompting action under SEC directions.
"It is extremely unfortunate that political battles are thus sought to be fought in this manner instead of being fought in the campaign trail," the EC observed.
