US President Donald Trump said talks with Iran are underway at Tehran’s request, backed by Gulf allies, calling it “a last chance” for Iran to sign a “good document.” He indicated discussions include reopening the Strait of Hormuz and eventual denuclearization. However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied any negotiations with Washington, saying talks are only with Oman.
Iran has said no agreement has yet been finalised with the United States and that exchanges between the two sides are continuing. Tehran said its current priority is ending the war, while discussions on uranium enrichment have not yet begun
