Iran has condemned new US economic sanctions, accusing Washington of asserting extraterritorial sovereignty over independent nations. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said the measures violate international law and warned that combined with a naval blockade, they could erode national sovereignty.
Iran rejected the UN's characterisation of regional hostilities, defending strikes on US bases as lawful self-defence against US-Israeli aggression. Tehran urged Gulf states to stop supporting US operations, while the UN called for restraint, de-escalation, and renewed diplomatic negotiations
