In a message to Snap employees, CEO Evan Spiegel acknowledged that several factors have evolved since they initially embarked on the AR Enterprise strategy.
"With 375 million daily active users (DAU) reported on January 31, we have now grown DAU by +15 per cent year-over-year for 13 consecutive quarters," the company said in a statement.
The job cuts at Snap were coming after the company posted disastrous quarterly results (Q2) amid poor future forecast. Snap suffered nearly $10 billion loss and its shares hit a new 52-week low.
