Facebook is not alone as Twitter in January acquired Revue, an email service that makes it free and easy for anyone to start and publish editorial newsletters, for an undisclosed sum.
Now, Australia is joining France and other governments in pushing Google, Facebook and other internet giants to pay. That might channel more money to a news industry that is cutting coverage as revenue shrinks.
"We are now removing content containing the phrase 'stop the steal' under our Coordinating Harm policy from Facebook and Instagram," said Guy Rosen, VP Integrity.
