A pro-Iranian hacking group, Handala, claimed to have breached the account of FBI Director Kash Patel, posting old photos and personal documents online. The FBI confirmed the data was historical and unrelated to government work. The Justice Department recently seized domains linked to Iranian hackers.
The announcement came after registered Democratic voters reported receiving personally addressed emails in the name of the Proud Boys armed militia group.
