Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that India will manufacture engines for its fifth-generation fighter jets in partnership with French firm Safran. The move supports the AMCA project under Make in India, as defence exports and production hit record levels.

The Hyderabad-based VEM Technologies Private Limited has made its mark in the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft also called the AMCA, manufacturing end-to-end modules besides assembling and integrating the entire aircraft.
