The government on Friday directed the edible oil industry to cut retail prices of the essential commodity by Rs 8 to Rs 12 with immediate effect in the light of the fact that international rates have sharply fallen in the last two months

Earlier, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in February had already asked its staff to work from home with restricted required attendance.

"On completion of reforms, additional borrowing permission of Rs 23,523 crore has been issued to them," Finance Ministry statement said.
