Goa Police detained Ajay Gupta, co-owner of the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub where 25 people died in a massive fire. With his detention, the total arrests have risen to six, while two key owners remain absconding, allegedly having fled to Thailand.
Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar, the original landowner of the site where the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub operated, said he had raised repeated complaints for two decades about illegal constructions. The club, built on disputed land, was gutted in a fire that killed 25 people.
