India’s action against 57 websites and databases hosted on Google Firebase has highlighted how cybercriminals allegedly misuse legitimate cloud infrastructure for phishing, malware distribution and financial fraud, including fake bank websites and malicious applications targeting sensitive user information
The Central government has reportedly asked Google to take down Firebase accounts impersonating banks and financial institutions. I4C flagged 57 pages, including phishing sites allegedly used to steal credit card details and OTPs and defraud users.
