It took dozens of rescue crews and a team from the Grand Canyon National Park two hours to pull Wyatt Kauffman to safety on August 8 after falling off a ledge at the popular tourist site's North Rim, reports the BBC.
Coming as Biden is on a three-state Western trip, the move will help preserve about 1,562 square miles (4,046 square kilometers) just to the north and south of Grand Canyon National Park.

They have requested Washington to expand the protected area around the canyon by incorporating 1.1 million acres of public lands into the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni Grand Canyon National Monument.
A total of 57 people were involved in the crash, which occurred at Grand Canyon West just before 10 am, Hualapai Emergency Operations said in a news release, as per CNN.
