The NIA arrested wanted accused Sharanjit Kumar alias Sunny from Gaya, Bihar, in connection with the March 2025 Amritsar temple grenade attack. He allegedly supplied grenades to assailants and had been absconding since NIA raids in Punjab.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan said no terror organisation has claimed the attack and the investigation is underway.

According to an official statement of Defence Public relations officer (PRO), Srinagar the incident took place at 10:15 am during Army's road opening party's sanitisation drill.

The attack took place at Singhpora in Pattan area of the district, police said.
