PV Sindhu delivered a commanding performance at the Japan Open Super 750, defeating world No. 5 Han Yue of China in straight games (21-16, 21-14) to enter the quarterfinals. The two-time Olympic medallist will now face Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara.
In the first game, Han showcased her precision and power, leading 11-9 at the mid-game interval and extending her advantage to 18-13 as Sindhu struggled to find her rhythm. Although Sindhu saved four game points, she was unable to prevent Han from winning the opener with a powerful cross-court smash.
