Andhra Pradesh reported 31 election-related incidents across 13 districts during Thursday's local body nomination process. Reported incidents included clashes, attacks on candidates, damaged property and destroyed nomination papers, prompting police to register cases and warn those responsible of criminal action.
The Chief Secretary and DGP were reportedly summoned to the ECI’s headquarters in the national capital to explain the reasons for the failure to contain violence on polling day and thereafter.
