Kerala reported its second suspected Nipah virus death, with a 57-year-old man from Palakkad testing positive locally. Authorities have traced 46 contacts, issued alerts across six districts, and are awaiting confirmation from the National Institute of Virology in Pune.
The most it could do is cause "sporadic infections in rural areas". They also concluded that CQV could not be perceived as a major public health threat at the present moment.
