Facebook on January 7 imposed a ban on Trump from its platforms "indefinitely" following a pro-Trump attack on the US Capitol, saying the ban would not be lifted before Inauguration Day on January 20.
Aides to the California Democrat confirmed the timing and said Gov. Gavin Newsom was aware of her decision, clearing the way for him to appoint fellow Democrat Alex Padilla, now California's secretary of state, to serve the final two years of Harris' term.
"We already prohibit ads for weapons, ammunition and weapon enhancements like silencers. But we will now also prohibit ads for accessories such as gun safes, vests and gun holsters in the US," the company said in a statement last on Saturday.
