Navneet Kaur scored a hat-trick as India defeated Wales 4–1 in a Pool B match of the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad, strengthening their chances of reaching the final ahead of their clash with Italy.

While the men's hockey team won bronze, the women's hockey team lost to Great Britain in the bronze medal play-off.
