India's COVID-19 tally
The death toll climbed to 4,67,468 with 488 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
In the meantime, 276 deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the total fatalities to 4,65,349.
The recovery of 13,204 patients in the same time period has increased the cumulative tally to 3,37,63,104.
As many as 1,61,555 active cases at present constitute 0.47 per cent of the country's total positive cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.
Of the new infections reported in India in the last 24 hours, Kerala reported 7,163 new cases.
The recovery of 17,677 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,35,32,126.
At present, India's caseload of active cases stands at 1,75,745 that is the lowest in 232 days. Active cases account for less than 1 per cent of the total cases in the country, currently at 0.51 per cent. It is the lowest since March 2020.
Of these new infections, 7,643 cases were reported in Kerala on Tuesday.
Active cases have declined to 1,95,846 and comprise 0.57 per cent of the total infections. The national Covid recovery rate was recorded at 98.10 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.
India reported 214 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. The death toll in the country now stands at 4,50,589.
The recovery rate is currently at 97.98 per cent, the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.
A total of 24,602 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recoveries to 3,32,00,258. India's recovery rate stands at 97.95 per cent - the highest since March 2020.
According to the ministry, a total of 338 people succumbed to the coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 4,42,655 in the country.
A reduction of 2,337 cases has been recorded in the active coronavirus infections in a span of 24 hours.
The active cases comprise 1.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.45 per cent.
