Hyderabad hospitals are reporting a sharp rise in viral fevers and influenza-like illnesses amid overcast and chilly weather. Patients with high fever, body aches and cough are crowding clinics and major hospitals. The DPH has advised vulnerable groups to seek early medical care.
For the week ending November 3, approximately 5,000 medical institutions reported 5,127 influenza cases, marking an increase of 829 cases from the previous week, according to Japan's Health Ministry. The average number of patients per institution reached 1.04, exceeding the threshold for declaring the start of a nationwide flu season. As a result, the ministry officially announced the onset of flu season on Friday, reported Xinhua news agency.
