"Based on specific intelligence about terrorists in the Kowut area of Kupwara, a joint search operation was launched by the #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice in the days leading up to July 23, 2024," posted the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps on X.
Officials reported that terrorists attacked a newly established Army checkpoint near the house of Shaurya Chakra awardee Parshotam Kumar, a village defense committee member, in Gundha Khawas village, Rajouri district, around 3 a.m.
Sanapala Jagadeeswara Rao (40) from Vallabharayudupet village in Nandigam mandal and Donkari Rajesh (26) from Mekrem Tandra village in Santabommali mandal, both from Srikakulam district, were killed in the attack early Monday morning.
