US special envoy Tom Barrack said his team will discuss a long-term ceasefire with Israel after Lebanon endorsed a US-backed plan to disarm Hezbollah.

Aoun made the remarks during his meeting with Paul Grove, senior staff at the US Senate Appropriations Committee, according to a presidential statement.

The army reported repeated shelling of Lebanese border regions and confirmed its units continued to respond accordingly
