AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi announced support for Opposition vice-presidential candidate and retired Supreme Court judge B. Sudershan Reddy. Owaisi said Telangana CMO sought AIMIM’s backing, calling Reddy a “fellow Hyderabadi and respected jurist” ahead of the September 9 election.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused Opposition Vice-Presidential nominee Justice B Sudershan Reddy of aiding Naxalism through his 2011 Salwa Judum ruling. Shah said the judgment prolonged Left extremism, hit out at Congress’s choice, defended anti-graft bills, and targeted Rahul Gandhi’s “double standards.”
