Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal warned that the state could lose Rs 8,000–10,000 crore annually due to GST rate rationalisation. He urged the Centre to ensure benefits reach consumers and pressed for compensation to states facing major revenue losses

Finance Minister K N Balagopal claimed that the central government has informed the apex court that if Kerala withdraws its petition, the government will give the state permission to borrow around Rs 12,000 crore on Monday itself.

He said vaccines to all above 18 years would be given free and for that Rs 1,000 crore have been set aside in the package.
