In April-January, passenger vehicle shipments were still down by 43.1 per cent at 3,28,360 units as against 5,77,036 units in the same period of 2019-20 financial year.
"In just over a year of sales operations, Kia has emerged as India's youngest automobile disruptor and one of the best-selling automobile brands in the country," Kia Motors India Managing Director and CEO Kook Hyun Shim said.
While Kia Motors is looking to ramp up production, Toyota is all set to bring in new products and Hyundai aims to carry over its strategy of bringing in industry first innovations to the market.
