Xinhua news agency reported that the tragic accident took place on the mountain pass between Mokopane and Marken in Limpopo. The bus lost control, veered off a bridge, caught fire, and led to 45 fatalities and one serious injury.
The South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) reported that all the deceased were pilgrims journeying from Gaborone, the capital of neighboring Botswana, to attend an Easter conference at a church.
