A 56-year-old woman from Malappuram has died of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis in Kozhikode, taking Kerala’s toll to five within a month. With 42 confirmed cases this year, health authorities have launched a state-wide water purification drive and imposed safety restrictions.
The man, Rafeeq of Chelembra in Malappuram district, was brought to Tirurangadi taluk hospital when he attacked the policeman and hurled abuses at the doctor and para medical staff in the hospital.
