BRS working president KT Rama Rao congratulated Malika Handa on winning bronze in the women’s classical individual chess event at the Asia Pacific Deaf Multi-Sport Championship 2026 in Malaysia. He recalled providing Rs. 15 lakh and a laptop in 2022.
Despite being speech and hearing impaired, she is first Indian woman to win a gold medal in the International Deaf Chess Championship in 2016, which took place in Armenia.
