The Union Home Ministry has extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) for another six months, effective October 1, across most parts of Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh. The extension follows a review of the law and order situation, though 13 police station jurisdictions in Manipur's Imphal Valley remain exempt from the "disturbed area" notification.
