On Friday evening, a fourth fire erupted in Kaanapali, a coastal area in West Maui located north of Lahaina, however, authorities managed to quickly extinguish it.
Michael Miraflor, a user on X (formerly Twitter) said that five people related to his brother's girlfriend were caught in a vehicle in Maui after the wildfires surrounded them.
The government in the statement said, "The Lahaina fire is not yet contained." Earlier, Hawaii Governor Josh Green said that the death toll from the wildfires on the island of Maui in Hawaii reaches 59.
