The method could represent a rapid and inexpensive way to repurpose existing therapies into new treatments for this progressive, debilitating neurodegenerative condition.
"Our trial results importantly show that these medications can be safely continued for patients hospitalized with Covid-19," said a researcher, Julio A. Chirinos, MD, PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the US.
The analysis, published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, included 20,046, 11,719 and 6,430 women in Australia who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, colorectal cancer and melanomam, respectively.
