A light plane crashed in Kazakhstan’s Akmola region on Monday, killing its pilot and passenger, authorities said. The Aerostar R40F did not catch fire, and investigators are on site. Separately, a small plane in Montana skidded during landing into parked aircraft, causing a fire; all four aboard escaped with minor injuries.
The Republican-controlled Legislature also passed a bill that would ban transgender athletes from playing according to the gender with which they identify in school and college sports.
