All 582 passengers stranded on a Mumbai Monorail between Chembur and Bhakti Park were successfully rescued by the Mumbai Fire Brigade using snorkel ladder vehicles after a technical failure halted the train. A technical review is underway to prevent future incidents.
A fire broke out at around 9 a.m. in the Saki Society of Sakinaka, Andheri East. This left residents stranded on different floors, with concerned neighbors gathering and making efforts to assist.
A total of 103 fire calls have been received in the last 4 days. Only 33 calls were received on Diwali night, specifically related to firecracker bursting.
