Five individuals, including three from Gujarat, have been charged by the police for allegedly defrauding a music academy owner in Thane, Maharashtra, of Rs 35.50 lakh.
The incident occurred at around 3 AM on Sunday when the woman was seated in the front seat of the car while her colleague was in the back seat, an official said.
The accused in the 'serial rapes' is Dr Yogesh Bhanushali, who was arrested after two cases were lodged against him for the offence on September 27 and October 3, and the third case lodged on October 15.
The police on Sunday nabbed Karan Ajay Shah (29), a graphic designer, Darshan Pravin Gohil (24), Paresh Suresh Nevrekar (35) and Kavish Bhalchandra Patil (24), an official said.
A Directorate of Revenue Intelligence release said eight persons were arrested in this connection, including five women comprising four Kenyans and a Tanzanian who were used as carriers of the smuggled gold
