The Digital News Publishers Association told the Supreme Court that newsrooms could shut down without a journalistic exemption under the DPDP Act. The court issued notices to the Centre but declined to grant an interim stay before hearing the government.
The global survey revealed that 90 per cent of newsrooms are already using some form of AI in news production, 80 per cent in news distribution, and 75 per cent in news gathering.
