Indian equity benchmarks fell in early trade on Wednesday as investors turned cautious ahead of the RBI's monetary policy decision. Sensex dropped 462 points and Nifty declined 176 points, while consumer durables, metals and auto stocks led sectoral losses.
The Sensex and Nifty ended lower on Wednesday after giving up early gains, dragged by Reliance Industries and IT stocks. The Sensex fell 183 points to 77,472.94, while the Nifty declined 127 points to settle at 24,207.75
